FAB, a profile of cognitive, social, emotional, communication, fine and gross motor skills, abilities and needs.
The Edvocation® Services FAB Assessment provides a comprehensive profile of an individual's cognitive, social, emotional, communication, fine, and gross motor skills, as well as their abilities and needs. These core areas significantly impact learning, relationship development, emotional resilience, self-care, independence, and functioning across different environments—such as educational, family, and community settings.
This profile considers an individual’s daily living skills and adaptability to typical demands and experiences, including academic, personal, social, emotional, and practical aspects. FAB Assessment reports are often utilised as supporting documentation for referrals to private clinical assessments for autism, informing educational adjustments tailored to a child or young person’s emerging needs within a graduated response framework. Additionally, the report aids parents and caregivers in understanding and effectively responding to their child’s unique needs and abilities.
The FAB Assessment uses psychometric tools and gathers insights from the young person and those familiar with them—such as parents or teachers—to provide a well-rounded analysis. The findings are presented in a detailed report with specific recommendations for key areas of need.
To begin, parents will complete questionnaires detailing concerns, experiences, and developmental and educational background. Upon receiving the completed questionnaires, parents will be invited to schedule a FAB consultation appointment to discuss these aspects in depth.
Access Arrangements allow candidates with special needs, disabilities, or injuries to take assessments without changing the requirements.
