Access Arrangements allow candidates with special needs, disabilities, or injuries to take assessments without changing the requirements.
Exam Access Arrangements provide support for candidates with special educational needs, disabilities, or temporary injuries, allowing them to take exams without altering the exam's requirements. Examples include the use of readers, scribes, or Braille papers, ensuring compliance with the Equality Act 2010’s duty to make ‘reasonable adjustments.’
A variety of tests will be used to assess the candidate’s needs, which may include evaluations of cognitive processing, writing speed, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and spelling.
The assessments are conducted by a qualified assessor who undergoes annual training to stay current with the latest Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations. Relevant evidence will be provided.
