Advisory

A bespoke approach to support parents, families and professionals negotiate education, health and social care systems, such as requests for Ed.

Edvocation® Services has partnered with Associate Practitioners in Education and Inclusion to secure the most appropriate pathways and outcomes for a child or young person who has or may have SEND and for whom provision which is additional to or different from that available to their peers.

Our practitioners can manage, guide or advise parent/carers/and professionals - such as SENCo/ALNCo's - on SEND processes, as well as review and compile documentation associated with the Children and Families Act (2014), SEND Code of Practice (DfE, 2015) and clinical practice referrals.

Individual Case Consultation offers individualised working. For example through:

  • full management of your case
  • providing regular, scheduled checks and guidance throughout the timeframe of our work with you
  • advice sessions scheduled as 'one-off', and/or 'when needed'

Typical individual case consultancy work has included:

  • triage consultations for parent/carers and professionals where they have 'niggles' about a child or young person - such as their progress, behaviour, and relationships.
  • reviewing and responding to correspondence
  • report reading and preparation for meetings
  • checking and collating information for Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment Requests
  • reviewing and advising on draft Education, Health and Care Plans
  • advice, guidance, and management regarding Local Authority refusal to assess/refusal to issue Education, Health and Care Plans
  • preparation for annual reviews and requests for review of needs assessments
  • reviewing and responding to provision and placement decisions
  • advice, guidance and management of referrals to clinical pathways
  • psychometric assessments and observational reports to gather further information of a child/young person's needs and abilities

Individual Case Consultation Packages are costed on a time allocated basis charged at twenty minute time units. Fees start at £30 for one twenty minute time unit and include a written summary of advice for the work undertaken.
